Our Spirit provides local fruit and vegetables to supplement evening trek meals as well as daily food packs. Here's an example of our food pack includions: breakfast cereals, muesli bars, cheese and biscuits, fish, tortillas, noodles, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and a few treats to keep you motivated.

Important: Our Spirit support crew ratio is 1 local legend for every 2 trekkers which enables us to ensure your safety and provide you with the best support and cultural experience on the Kokoda Track.
Kokoda Group Guides (Kokoda Legends) provide essential local knowledge and safe passage across the Kokoda Track
Group Porters (Kokoda Legends) carry food supplies and group expedition equipment
Charter food supplies to Effogi (midway point)
Group Cook prepares all trek meals and assists with group porter duties
Includes meals and return airfare for all support crew - Kokoda Legends
Perform a Bugler's moving rendition of the last post at various battlesites and the Bomana Cemetery.
Provide individual motivation and encouragement (including pre-trek training advice)
Create opportunities for team cohesion
Present the most passionate and comprehensive historical briefings along the Kokoda Track (supported by various battalions from the Australian Military campaign. Eg. 2/16th and 2/14th battalions). Follow this link for more information on the history of the Kokoda Track campaign
Guide participants to significant battle sites on and off the Kokoda Track including the original wartime track
Inform participants of cultural etiquite and educate participants on basic Motu (local Papuan language)
Arrange ceremonial welcomes into Villages

Recognise and reward individual achievements on completion (including Our Spirit t-shirt, trek medallion and certificate)
Supplied/provided by participant (at own expense):
Personal trekking gear (including a backpack, boots and appropriate clothing)
Pre trek preparation - a doctor’s clearance to verify that the participant is physically fit to complete the trek (certification not required by Our Spirit)
Malarial medication
Basic personal first-aid kit (detailed in participant guide)
Passport and visa (obtain on arrival at Port Moresby airport - currently $50AUD)

Excess Baggage (limit of 20kg allowed)
Personal porter (Kokoda Legend) to carry your backpack during the trek ($520 AUD - includes meals and return airfare for porter) can be booked prior to departure if required. Kokoda backpacks are available to purchase or hire from Port Moresby.
Additional fresh local fruit and vegetables can be purchased from villagers if desired.

Our Spirit Pty Ltd holds current public liability insurance and maintains comprehensive risk management procedures for all our adventures as part of our standard business practice.
It is recommended that each person joining the party be physically prepared by the time of departure. An exercise program, including training walks and nutritional advice are included in the program.
There are several sessions within the program that require training with full packs, (that is the backpack and all equipment you intend to use on the trek). By wearing or breaking in your hiking boots, you will minimise the risk of blisters and unnecessary sweat problems if they can be addressed prior to commencing the trek.
