Oxley Adventure Overview
This exciting 4 day adventure encompasses trekking, cycling and kayaking 280km of some the oldest pioneering country in Australia. It’s a great opportunity for you to experience and overcome the challenges inherent with traversing an unknown terrain just like the early Australian pioneers.

Historical Background
Over 2 hundred years ago our pioneering forefathers, with little more than sheer determination, will and an amazing adventurous spirit began the task of exploring and settling a brave new world.
Our forefathers gathered their families and challenged by a hostile environment and unforgiving climate they managed to forge a life out of nothing. They braved starvation and a lack of medical or community support to create many of the towns that exist today in Australia.
Only giants among men could have achieved the tasks our Pioneers attempted. No other continent proved as inhospitable or as dangerous as Australia. In other lands there had been great rivers to follow, fruit, fish, reliable pasture or rainfall.
Men like Eyre, Gregory, Leichardt, Sturt, McKinlay, Stuart, Burke and Wills etc. were big men of a sort. They were all “Visionary Pioneers”
What is it about the pioneers - our forefathers that motivated them to risk everything and strive towards realizing their vision? Did they want to see what they were made of? Did they want to see if they were up to the challenge? Did they have what it takes to succeed?
Could they create a new life whereby they were leaders instead of servants?
It would be a disgrace to lose that spirit, that life blood exists within all of us. The country you live in today was founded by people like yourself. Find that pioneering spirit within and join us on this incredible journey!
